Hydrodemolition of Bridge Deck

Gulf Coast Region
We were was called in to remove the top 1″ to 3″ of concrete over a 16,000 square foot area.

Hydrodemolition is the ideal process for this type of work. High-pressure water jets remove concrete but keep the rebar intact. By adjusting the pressure and angle of the hydrobot, operators can remove just the right amount of concrete.

Additionally, because the bridge supported a large water main, work had to be done in two mobilizations. Engineers wanted to assure that the bridge structure was sound during concrete removal so that the water pipe would be supported.
